Wipro has shifted its hiring strategy and will no longer offer inflated salary packages, according to HR head Saurabh Govil.
Instead, individuals with specialised skills in areas like generative AI and cybersecurity will receive premium pay. The company also aims to automate a significant portion of HR functions, with the goal of resolving 80% of queries through bots.
Wipro encourages employees to return to the office, ideally for three days a week, but has not yet enforced a mandatory work-from-office policy. The firm recently hired 92% of freshers at a reduced salary of Rs 3.5 lakh per year, down from the initial offer of Rs 6.5 lakh.
