Neeraj Pandey, Chairperson of Placements at IIM Mumbai, expressed optimism about the outcomes. “This year’s placements have been very good. Companies that were hiring two or three candidates last year have picked students in double digits. Companies have positive outlooks and have been offering interesting job profiles, especially in the logistics and consultancy sectors,” he noted. “We got many more offers compared to last year. All the candidates with work experience, as well as some freshers, were placed. The remainder will have another round in January.”

Traditional sectors such as operations and supply chain management retained their prominence, with numerous companies hiring graduates for specialised roles. Meanwhile, the Class of 2026 summer internship process also recorded impressive results, further enhancing IIM Mumbai’s reputation as a premier institution.

A total of 128 companies participated in the internship drive, offering positions to 425 students. The average stipend reached ₹3 lakh for two months, with Coca-Cola offering the highest stipend of ₹5 lakh—a record-setting achievement in the business internship space.

The breakdown of internship stipends for top performers was as follows: the top 10 per cent secured an average of ₹5 lakh, the next 20 per cent received ₹4.5 lakh, and the top 50 per cent earned an average of ₹3.75 lakh.

As IIM Mumbai gears up for the second phase of placements, the institution continues to demonstrate its ability to attract leading global firms and provide its students with unparalleled opportunities.
