Legacy and Leadership: Noel Tata Steps Up for Tata Trusts

The demise of Ratan Tata left an irreplaceable void in the world of business and philanthropy. However, as things needed to move on, Tata Trust wasted no time declaring a successor who would take the reins of the Tata Group’s philanthropic arm, Tata Tata Trusts as its Chairman. The late industrialist’s half-brother who is already on the boards of several listed companies of Tata including Tata Steel and Voltas, will discuss the group’s succession plan.

Noel’s assignation was a legacy move to honour Ratan Tata’s approach of ‘moving on’.

Reports suggest that Mehli Mistry, the estranged first cousin of erstwhile Tata Group Chairperson (late) Cyrus Mistry is set to be appointed as the trustee of Tata Trust

Despite being in the Tata Group since the early 2000s, Noel has managed to stay away from the limelight which was quite the opposite in Ratan Tata’s case. Despite staying low-profile, Noel Tata has played a key role in bolstering the conglomerate’s growth ever since he joined

Leah, Maya and Neville, the children of Noel were appointed to the group as trustees in various trusts which are linked to the Sir Ratan Tata Trust or Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. Leah is the current VP at the Indian Hotels, Maya is involved with Tata Capital and Neville’s associated with Trent and the leadership team at the Star Bazaar.
