Mashreq Appoints Tushar Vikram as Country Head and CEO for India

Mashreq, a preeminent financial institution in the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), has announced the appointment of Tushar Vikram as its new Country Head and CEO of India, effective from June 2024. In his new role, Vikram will helm the bank’s operations in India, driving strategic growth and direction.

Vikram brings a wealth of expertise to Mashreq, with a career spanning three decades in the banking sector. Before joining Mashreq, he served as Group Head of Investment Banking at HDFC Bank, overseeing key divisions including Project Finance, Equity, Debt Capital Markets, and Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A). His extensive experience (also) includes 27 years at Citibank, where he held various roles in commercial banking, investment and structured finance, digitisation, credit processes, and risk management.

Vikram holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Delhi University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. His robust background in investment banking, corporate finance, and strategic financial management equips him with the expertise to navigate complex financial landscapes and drive sustainable growth strategies.
