According to sources, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Brajesh’s appointment as MD and CEO with effect from the date he assumes charge. He will remain in office until reaching the age of superannuation on 30 April 2029.
The appointment follows a recommendation made by the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), which had shortlisted him for the top post in December 2025 after assessing candidates for the leadership role.
With extensive experience in the banking sector and a track record in senior management, he is expected to steer Canara Bank through its next phase of growth and strategic expansion.
