TCS Bounces Back! Hires 5452 Employees in First Quarter of FY25

Indian IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has made a significant comeback by hiring 5452 employees in the ongoing fiscal year FY25 after a notable decline in the previous year. This hiring surge follows a severe drop in headcount, marking the first such decline in 19 years for the company. Currently, TCS boasts a strong workforce of 606,998 employees.

This fiscal year has also been remarkable for TCS in terms of attrition rates, which have fallen to 12.1% as of FY25.

According to Milind Lakkad, the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of TCS, this achievement is a result of the company’s deep focus on employee engagement and development. Lakkad highlighted that TCS has excelled in employee retention and has successfully completed its annual increment process.

In addition to workforce growth, TCS reported a 9% year-over-year increase in net profit, amounting to Rs 12,040 crore. For Q1, TCS achieved a revenue of Rs 62,613 crore, reflecting a 5.4% increase from the same quarter last year.

K Krithivasan, the CEO and Managing Director of TCS, stated, “We are continuing to expand our client relationships, create new capabilities in emerging technologies, and invest in innovation, including a new AI-focused TCS PacePort in France, an IoT Lab in the US, and the expansion of our delivery centers in Latin America, Canada, and Europe.”
