Amazon India announced on Monday that it has generated more than 1.5 lakh seasonal work opportunities across the country, driven by the heightened demand of the festive season.
“These include direct and indirect work opportunities in 400+ cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Cochin, Coimbatore, Indore, Raipur, etc.,” the company stated.
The hiring drive has opened avenues for thousands of women associates and over 2,000 persons with disabilities (PWDs). Many of these recruits have already been onboarded, according to a release issued by Amazon India. The roles span fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery stations.

Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations for India and Australia at Amazon, emphasised the long-term prospects of such employment. “Many of these new associates continue their journey with Amazon beyond the festive period, with a significant number returning to work with us year after year,” he said.
Singh also underscored the company’s commitment to workplace safety and inclusion. “Throughout our operations, we prioritise the safety and well-being of all associates—whether they’re working in our buildings or delivering packages to customers,” he noted. “We remain dedicated to fostering a safe, equitable, and empowering work environment that includes social security benefits and supports the financial well-being of all our team,” he added.
To support its expanding workforce, Amazon has scaled up the number of Ashray rest centres to 100 across India. The company has also introduced free health check-ups for more than 80,000 delivery associates in major cities, covering eye, dental, BMI, and physician consultations. An on-site medical support facility, branded ‘AMCARE’, is available at fulfilment centres to provide immediate assistance to those requiring first aid or rest.
In addition, Amazon highlighted its Early Access to Pay (EATP) programme, which allows associates to withdraw up to 80 per cent of their accrued basic salary within the first 20 days of the month. The initiative aims to enhance financial flexibility and well-being among employees.
