As kids, we often asked each other this question. “Run with it,” most of us would reply. Who could have imagined that a playful scenario we created to keep our young minds entertained would one day become a reality? We’re talking about the viral video from China where employees are grabbing money laid out on a table.
The video has gone wildly viral, spreading across social media platforms as people share it by the minute. A Chinese company organised a party and decided to host a competition to determine how much money each employee would get. The management of Henan Mining Crane Co., Ltd. laid out S$11 million in cash on a table and gave employees 15 minutes to “take as much cash as they want.”
A video of the event, shared on Chinese social media sites Douyin and Weibo, quickly made its way to Instagram. The video opens with a huge table covered in money, and employees eagerly begin counting the cash to take home their bonuses.

This is the same company that distributed substantial amounts of money to its employees during a dinner in 2023.
In the comments on the video, some people have questioned the intentions of the employers and the ethics of the workers. However, many have applauded the company for taking a straightforward approach. Some even wrote, "This is what employees want, not your off-sites."
