
Capgemini has announced a significant leadership transition in India. After seven years as CEO of Capgemini in India, Ashwin Yardi will retire from the executive role and assume the position of non-executive Chairman of the board, effective 1 January 2026. Sanjay Chalke, currently Chief Operating Officer of Capgemini in India, will succeed him as CEO and join the Group Executive Committee.
In his new role, Ashwin Yardi will focus on nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and supporting Sanjay Chalke during the transition. Ashwin, who has spent 30 years with Capgemini, has been pivotal in establishing the company’s industry leadership and talent presence in India. Under his stewardship, Capgemini’s workforce in India expanded from 105,500 to nearly 180,000 team members, while he oversaw operations, delivery, capability development, and innovation across the country. His international experience spans North and South America, the Netherlands, Australia, and several Asian countries, and he has collaborated with numerous Fortune 500 companies to drive business transformation. He is also actively engaged in digital, big data, and automation initiatives.

Sanjay Chalke, who assumes the CEO role on 1 January 2026, has been instrumental as COO in leading transformation programmes focused on operational excellence, talent acquisition, delivery assurance, and cross-functional synergy across business units. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Head of Sogeti India at Capgemini, where he led initiatives to elevate business performance and talent development while building high-performing delivery teams. He also headed the Global SAP Business at DXC Technologies, managing cross-functional global teams for key clients. As CEO, Sanjay will continue to reinforce Capgemini India as a strategic hub for client delivery excellence, innovation, and talent growth.
