Vishal Salvi has been appointed Senior Vice President and Global Practice Head for Cognizant’s expanding Cybersecurity business, as the company strengthens its strategic investment in the sector. He will report to Annadurai Elango, President of Core Technologies & Insights at Cognizant.
Mr Salvi joins Cognizant from Quick Heal Technologies Limited, where he served as Chief Executive Officer. Earlier in his career, he was Global Chief Information Security Officer, Business Head of the Cybersecurity Service Line and Senior Vice President at Infosys Ltd. His professional journey spans more than three decades, with leadership roles at PwC, HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Global Trust Bank, Development Credit Bank and Crompton Greaves.

A highly regarded figure in the industry, Mr Salvi is recognised for his expertise in steering transformative cybersecurity programmes. He served as an Independent Director of the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) for five years and continues to contribute to several Advisory Councils and Boards, offering strategic direction on cybersecurity issues and championing the adoption of best practices across sectors.
An alumnus of Bombay University, Mr Salvi holds a degree in computer science engineering and an MBA in finance. He has also completed Executive Leadership Programmes at Harvard, Stanford and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. In addition, he holds certifications including CISM and DSCI Certified Privacy Professional, and has received accolades from esteemed institutions such as DSCI, the CSO Forum and ISACA.
His appointment reflects Cognizant’s commitment to scaling its cybersecurity practice in response to an increasingly complex global digital landscape.
