Since January 2023, a combination of airlines, hotels, and tour & travel management firms reported a collective headcount growth of approximately 11%, according to data from Xpheno.
Hotels added a net 3% headcount, airlines 17%, and travel companies 10%. Over 26,000 new hires were made in the first five months of 2023, nearly reaching 90% of the entire headcount growth of 2022. The industry is on track to double its growth rate compared to last year, and it’s predicted to continue generating new jobs throughout 2023. The highest demand for talent in the hotel sector is in Mumbai, while Delhi is leading in airline and travel management.
