Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), India’s largest and one of the leading renewable energy firms globally, has announced a significant leadership change. On Monday, the company confirmed that its current CEO, Amit Singh, will step down from his position on March 31, 2025, to assume the role of CEO of the Adani Group’s International Energy Business.
The announcement was made in an official statement, which also revealed that Ashish Khanna, the present CEO of the International Energy Business, will take over as AGEL’s new CEO, effective April 1, 2025.

"Amit Singh, the current CEO of AGEL, will step down from his position as CEO of the Company, effective 31 March 2025 and will transition to his new role as CEO of International Energy Business of the Adani Group," the company’s statement noted.
This transition is part of Adani Group's ongoing internal leadership planning, aimed at sustaining growth while nurturing leadership development to align with the broader objectives of the company and the Group at large. As the Group seeks to extend its reach into international markets, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Amit Singh’s leadership is expected to be pivotal in driving forward the Group’s global expansion strategies.
Ashish Khanna brings over three decades of expertise in renewables, infrastructure, and project management, with experience both in India and abroad. His appointment marks a key milestone in AGEL’s future growth, ensuring continuity in the company's leadership during this pivotal phase of international expansion.
Amit Singh, a seasoned strategist with extensive experience in the energy sector, has a distinguished career spanning several countries. Having previously held key roles such as Managing Director and Country Chair for Qatar at SLB (formerly Schlumberger), Singh’s expertise in energy transition and global strategy will serve as a crucial asset in his new role within the Adani Group's international business.
