Godrej Industries Charts Leadership Succession as Nadir Godrej to Retire in 2026

India’s Godrej Industries on Monday unveiled a carefully structured leadership succession plan, confirming that its long-serving chairperson, Nadir Godrej, will retire in August 2026 and transition into the honorary role of chairman emeritus.

Nadir Godrej has been associated with the group since 1977, overseeing decades of expansion and diversification across its portfolio of businesses.

As part of the succession roadmap, Pirojsha Godrej, currently chairperson of Godrej Properties, will succeed him as chairperson of the Godrej Industries Group and Godrej Industries Ltd, with effect from August 14.

In tandem with this transition, Nadir Godrej will step down from the boards of several group companies in August, including Godrej Agrovet, Godrej Consumer Products and Godrej Properties.

Separately, he has relinquished his role as chairperson and non-executive director of Astec LifeSciences with effect from April 13.

Further appointments accompany the transition. Burjis Godrej, currently an executive director at Godrej Agrovet, will assume the role of chairperson of the agriculture business and join the board of Godrej Industries as a non-executive director from August 14.

Meanwhile, Vishal Sharma, chief executive of Godrej Chemicals, has been appointed chairperson of Astec LifeSciences with immediate effect.
