Dhiraj Saxena, who was working as the CTO at Poonawalla Fincorp, has resigned from the company, according to his resignation letter, citing ‘harassment and unnecessary interventions’ by the company's CHRO.
Addressing the MD & CEO of Poonawalla Fincorp, his letter, dated September 5, 2024, further addressed, “I hereby resign from the post of Chief Technology Officer due to harassment and unnecessary intervention of CHRO which is impacting me in managing the IT function effectively and efficiently. This is creating major unrest in the team thereby impacting the IT delivery.”

Saxena, a seasoned professional with a proven track record in digital banking and technology, joined Poonawalla Fincorp in July 2023 as Chief Transformation Officer. He was subsequently appointed as the company's CTO in March 2024.
Prior to joining Poonawalla Fincorp, Saxena held key positions at IDBI Bank, Andromeda Sales & Distribution, L&T Finance, and ICICI Bank. He holds a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Technology & Management and a Master's in Computer Applications (MCA) from Maharaja Sayajirao University.
The allegations in Saxena’s resignation letter spotlight the CHRO, Harsh Kumar, who joined Poonawalla Fincorp in July 2024 after serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer at CSB Bank.
This development has brought to the forefront concerns regarding workplace dynamics at Poonawalla Fincorp, with the potential to impact its organisational ethos and team morale. The company has yet to issue a statement addressing Saxena’s claims.
