Pranav Kumar Promoted to Head of Human Resources at Tata Motors Jamshedpur Plant

Tata Motors has announced the promotion of Pranav Kumar to the position of Head of Human Resources at its Jamshedpur plant. With over 20 years of distinguished experience in human resources, employee relations, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and welfare, Kumar is set to lead the company’s HR operations into a new phase of growth and development.

Kumar is widely acknowledged for his expertise in HR strategy, talent management, and employee engagement. His extensive career has given him a profound understanding of workforce dynamics, with leadership roles spanning across Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

Prior to his promotion, Kumar held the position of Head of Human Resources at Tata Motors’ Pune plant, where he drove HR, employee relations, skills development, and sustainability initiatives within the heavy commercial vehicles division. Under his leadership, the Pune plant saw significant improvements in organisational culture and operational efficiency.

Kumar’s career also includes impactful roles at Tata AutoComp Systems Ltd., KLT Automotive, and Achal Industries, where he made substantial contributions to talent acquisition, workforce planning, and union relations. Throughout his career, he has managed large and diverse workforces, adeptly navigating complex HR challenges such as compliance, budgeting, and labour negotiations.

His strategic leadership has been instrumental in shaping employee engagement programmes and fostering high-performance cultures across the various plants he has overseen.

In his new role at Jamshedpur, Kumar is poised to further enhance Tata Motors' HR strategy, aligning talent management with business objectives to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of the workforce.
