JSW Steel has announced the appointment of Sandiep Batra as President and Chief Human Resources Officer – Steel & Corporate, effective 18 November. The company noted that Batra’s arrival reinforces its commitment to strengthening leadership capability and nurturing a high-performance organisational culture.
Snadiep brings nearly 31 years of extensive professional experience across the IT, consumer, telecom, retail, e-commerce, infrastructure and aviation sectors. Prior to joining JSW Steel, he served as Chief People Officer at Adani Airport Holdings, where he played a central role in shaping the group’s people strategy.

Throughout his career, he has held key leadership positions at several major organisations, including Landmark Group, Vodafone Idea, Bharti Teletech, Cendant Corporation and Sona Koyo Steering Systems. His professional foundation was built during his tenure as a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army from 1993 to 1999, an experience that continues to influence his approach to leadership and organisational development.
Sandiep’s academic portfolio includes a Master’s Certificate in HR Transformation from Cornell University, a Senior Management Programme from IIM Kolkata and a Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management from IMT Ghaziabad.
