Suresh Agarwal has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer designate of the proposed life insurance joint venture between Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and Canada-based Manulife, the companies announced on Monday. The appointment remains subject to regulatory approvals.
The two firms had unveiled plans in November last year to establish a 50:50 life insurance partnership, signalling a shared commitment to advancing customers’ financial well-being within one of the world’s fastest-growing life insurance markets, according to a joint statement.

Suresh has been associated with the Mahindra Group since September 2025, when he assumed the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Mahindra Insurance Brokers Ltd. He will step down from this position on 30 April 2026 and is expected to take charge of the new role on 1 May 2026, pending regulatory clearance.
The proposed joint venture seeks to deliver long-term savings and protection solutions tailored to India’s diverse and expanding population, aligning with the nation’s "Insurance for All" vision by 2047.
