Accenture, the global IT and professional services giant, is set to elevate approximately 15,000 employees in India this June, aligning with a broader global promotion initiative encompassing nearly 50,000 staff. This substantial move underscores the company's renewed focus on talent recognition and workforce development.
In an internal communication addressed to employees, Ajay Vij, Accenture India's Senior Country Managing Director, stated:
"I am writing to share and celebrate with you that Accenture will promote almost 50,000 people around the world in June, including approximately 15,000 people in India. In total, across all of FY25, more than 43,000 of our people in India will have received a promotion."
Accenture operates on a financial year running from September to August. The firm had earlier implemented selective base pay increases in December 2024, part of an ongoing effort to reward performance and retain talent in key markets such as India.

Between June and December, the majority of Accenture’s Indian workforce will have benefited from base pay enhancements. Promotions and revised compensation details will be communicated internally between 26 and 29 May.
Ajay also confirmed that annual bonus and performance equity decisions for eligible employees will continue to be aligned with the December cycle.
"As a reminder, bonus and performance equity decisions for those eligible will continue to be made as part of the December cycle, and we will also continue to evaluate the opportunity for stay-at-level increases at that time," he added.
This shift follows a strategic change implemented in September 2024, when Accenture permanently moved its promotion cycle from December to June. The decision was driven by improved visibility into client budgets and market demand in the mid-year period, allowing for more informed talent planning.
