
HDFC Life Insurance Company on Tuesday confirmed that its Board has sanctioned a five-year extension of Vibha Padalkar’s tenure as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Acting on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board, at its meeting on Tuesday, approved the re-appointment of Vibha for a further five-year term commencing September 12, 2026, the company said in a regulatory filing.

The company added that the re-appointment remains subject to the approval of shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting, as well as clearance from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.
Vibha, who joined HDFC Life in 2008, has occupied several senior leadership positions within the organisation. Over the years, she has been credited with reinforcing the company’s financial architecture and playing a pivotal role in the successful public listing of HDFC Life in 2017.
She was appointed MD & CEO of the company for three years, effective September 12, 2018. She succeeded Amitabh Chaudhry, who is now MD and CEO of Axis Bank.
