Resham Khanna, an Indian product designer at Meta had an unexpected encounter during a routine Uber ride in San Francisco. In the ride that was luckily arranged by her friend, she spotted a poster in the car seeking help with a startup. The poster, affixed to one of the seats comprising a detailed plea from Frederico Coutrim, the Uber driver about a ‘revolutionary’ free mobile app TransChatMe.
To Resham’s surprise, Frederico turned out to be a successful startup founder whose app translates messages in real-time automatically for free. He is currently on the lookout for 1,000 downloads in order to pique the attention of investors. Seeing this as a brilliant initiative, Resham clicked a photograph of the poster and shared it through her social media, which has garnered impressive entrepreneurial spirit from Silicon Valley, even among those in seemingly ordinary roles.
