French multinational personal care major L’Oréal is set to inaugurate its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad in November this year, according to official sources on Wednesday.
The beauty-tech powerhouse plans to invest ₹3,500 crore (€350 million) by 2030, generating nearly 2,000 highly skilled roles spanning artificial intelligence, advanced engineering and data science. The centre will play a pivotal role in scaling AI-driven beauty innovations globally, an official release said.
The announcement was made by Nicolas Hieronimus, Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Once operational, the facility will be the world’s first GCC dedicated exclusively to the beauty-tech domain, marking a significant milestone for Telangana’s technology ecosystem.

“This first-of-its-kind Beauty Tech hub will serve as a flagship for crafting the next generation of AI-powered beauty innovation and services. With an initial investment of over Rs 3,500 Crores (350 million Euros) through 2030, the hub is set to become a global powerhouse, unleashing the potential of Data, AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI, alongside emerging technologies,” the release said.
Designed as a global innovation, technology, data and supply chain hub, the Hyderabad GCC will support L’Oréal’s worldwide digital transformation, AI and analytics initiatives. Solutions developed at the centre will be deployed across the company’s international operations, further strengthening Hyderabad’s reputation as a key destination for global enterprise capability centres.
“Tech solutions generated from the Hyderabad GCC will be supplied to our facilities all around the world,” Hieronimus explained.
L’Oréal has invited Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu to attend the GCC’s formal inauguration in November.
Recalling the state’s engagement with the company, Minister Sridhar Babu said the Chief Minister had been keen to secure L’Oréal’s GCC investment for Hyderabad, assuring full governmental support. He reiterated that Hyderabad remains one of India’s most attractive destinations for global investors.
Telangana Special Chief Secretary (Industries) Sanjay Kumar also invited L’Oréal to explore manufacturing opportunities in the state alongside its GCC plans. Responding positively, Hieronimus expressed interest in evaluating future manufacturing investments in Hyderabad, the release added.
