"True systems-change work associated with DEI programs everywhere are no longer business critical or smart as they were in 2020," the leader wrote, as revealed by Business Insider. The identity of the team leader, confirmed by Business Insider, remains undisclosed.
Microsoft's stance on diversity and inclusion was prominently declared in 2020 when it pledged to double the number of Black leaders within the company by 2025. However, the current status of this pledge remains unclear, casting doubt on the company’s ongoing commitment to these goals. Despite these internal cuts, Microsoft spokesperson Jeff Jones maintained that the company's DEI commitments are unwavering.
