Rajesh Nair has recently joined Jindal Steel and Power as the Head of HR Commercial. The industry veteran who held the reigns for the topmost HR positions at prestigious companies is quite excited to pursue his new role. Through LinkedIn, he expressed, “After 28 years of Tata Motors across Business & HR roles, and 3 years serving as the CHRO at Polycab, I am excited to join Jindal Steel & Power, a leading business house with significant presence in the space of Steel, Power, Mining and Infrastructure [sic]”.
He started his career with Pertech Computers in 1990 as a Sales Executive, post which he joined Tata Motors. Albeit he held various leadership positions in sales for the next 18 years, he was promoted to General Manager, HR—Corporate and then to Head HR Commercial Vehicles—Sales & Customer Care. After a long and illustrious odyssey with the company where he led successful strategic HR activities, he joined Polycab as the Executive President and CHRO. During his tenure at the electrical company, he set benchmarks for employee policies, learning frameworks, talent philosophies, performance management, L&D, etc.
With over 3 decades into his professional career, Mr Nair has contributed to pioneering important milestones across motor vehicle manufacturing, appliances, electrical & electronics manufacturing and mining verticals.
He holds an MBA in Marketing from Sydenham Institute of Management, Mumbai, and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
