Bharti Airtel has named Sharat Sinha as the CEO of Airtel Business, effective June 3, 2024. In his new role, Sinha will report to Gopal Vittal and join the Airtel Management Board, as stated in a company release.
Sinha transitions to Airtel Business from Checkpoint Software Technologies, where he was the President of Asia Pacific (APAC). With extensive experience in the technology sector, he has held leadership positions at Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, and VMWare. His early career at Ericsson and VSNL has provided him with a robust background in telecommunications, the release mentioned.
Gopal Vittal, CEO and MD of Bharti Airtel, expressed confidence in Sinha's global experience in product management and business leadership across various technology firms, believing it will significantly bolster Airtel's efforts to expand its portfolio in connectivity and related areas.
Last June, Airtel announced the departure of Ajay Chitkara, the then-CEO of Airtel Business. Subsequently, Bharti Airtel reorganised its enterprise arm into three segments: Global Business, led by Vani Venkatesh, Domestic Business, headed by Ganesh Lakshminarayanan and Nxtra Data Centers, overseen by Ashish Arora.
