Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), known as the largest employer of women among the 500 most valuable companies, is experiencing a surge in resignations from its female staff as it ends its work-from-home policy.
The Indian IT firm noted that the return-to-office policy led to more women leaving the company than men in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, due to a “reset of domestic arrangements”. TCS CHRO, Milind Lakkad, acknowledged this trend as a setback to the company’s efforts in promoting gender diversity but reinforced their commitment to addressing the issue. TCS did not specify the attrition rate based on gender, but its overall attrition rate was 20% during the year.
