CoinDCX Unveils Record ₹111 Crore ESOP Buyback Benefiting Over 500 Employees

CoinDCX, one of India’s foremost cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced its largest Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) liquidity event to date, valued at ₹111 crore.

The strategic buyback initiative aims to deliver meaningful wealth creation opportunities to more than 500 current and former employees, underscoring the organisation’s emphasis on cultivating a high-performance, ownership-centric workplace culture, the company said in a statement.

Sumit Gupta, Co-Founder of CoinDCX, said, “This buyback is more than just a financial milestone; It is our way of ensuring that those who stayed the course and fueled our mission can share in the tangible value they’ve helped build.”

“We are including former employees because their contribution is permanent. Moving on to new ventures doesn't erase the sweat equity they poured into our foundation,” Gupta added.

Established in 2018 by a five-member team operating from a modest two-bedroom apartment in Mumbai, CoinDCX has since navigated a complex regulatory environment to position itself as a significant player within India’s financial technology ecosystem, according to the statement.
