Infosys has rolled out a new relocation scheme to entice employees to transfer to its Development Centre in Hubballi, Karnataka. In an email to its staff, the IT giant highlighted Hubballi's vast growth potential, noting that the city is eager for the right talent to shape its future. “It’s your turn to grow global and consider pursuing your career at Hubballi DC,” the company stated.
The relocation policy primarily targets employees involved in project deliveries from any Infosys development centre across India, specifically those at band 2 and above.

Under this scheme, employees at band 3 and below are eligible for an initial relocation allowance of ₹25,000, followed by an additional ₹25,000 every six months for two years, totalling ₹1.25 lakh over 24 months. For those at higher bands (4 through 7), the relocation allowance can reach up to ₹8 lakh, including the initial sum, by the end of the same period.

This initiative is designed to attract staff from the Mumbai-Karnataka region to consider opportunities in Hubballi. Employees who relocate can continue working on their current projects from Hubballi, thus leveraging the centre’s state-of-the-art infrastructure while reducing operational costs.
The Karnataka State government has been actively promoting its 'Beyond Bengaluru’ campaign, encouraging tech companies and other businesses to move to tier 2 and tier 3 cities to alleviate congestion in the capital. Karnataka’s Industries and Infrastructure Minister, MB Patil, praised Infosys’ relocation incentives on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "This move encourages local talent from the Kittur Karnataka region to explore opportunities closer to home, fostering community ties and local development."
